My Habitat and Niche

My Habitat and Niche

My habitat is a simple house about ten miles away from town. I live on a small farm. There's a large field below the barn behind my house. When you first enter my house, you are in the living room. From there, you can get to the back deck, my parents room, the kitchen, or the basement. My parent’s room is connected to the master bathroom and the smaller bathroom is next to the kitchen. Also next to the kitchen, are my brother’s room and my room. My room is pretty small, but its nice. It’s where i spend most of my time. The others in my habitat are my mom, dad, brother, cat, and two dogs.
My niche in my habitat is mainly to just stay out of the way and not cause trouble; however, i also mop the kitchen and bathrooms often, I always have to feed the cat, and i mow the lawn. In the future, my niche will change. In the near future, my niche will probably just become that i stay out of the way and don’t cause trouble, but i won’t help out as much around the house. I really don’t like our house, so as soon as i can drive, i will be out of there as much as possible. It’s possible that i may start doing more work around the house, though, because i would want my parents to give me gas money if i don’t have a job yet. Then, in the more distant future, my niche will probably change to being more like my mother’s niche, since i will be living on my own and i will have to take care of my home on my own, as well as having a job. My brother and i currently have a similar niche because we both do chores around the house and just stay out of the way. My mother’s niche is also a lot of housework, such as the laundry and dishes, so in that way, our niches are similar. Our niches are different, however, because my mother has a job and also does a lot of physical labor on our small farm. My father and i have a very different niche as well. He works in an office all day and then does the most grueling of the physical labor on the farm when he comes home. I do neither of those things. The dogs and cats also have a different niche than me. They are there simply to keep us and each other company.
